In the main window of Center Manager Software, you can see the list of all lanes. In the following picture, you can see Lane 1 and Lane 2 are in one panel. Odd lanes are always on the left side of the panel. The first button at the top of this panel serves to open, extend, and close the lane. The label on the button changes to reflect the current status of the lane. Click on Open Lane button to open the Open Lane Window.
Clicking on the "Open Lane" button will open a new window titled "Open Lane Window," where you can configure the selected lane.
In the Open Lane Window, when the Prepaid option is unchecked, there are four columns displayed. These columns, from left to right, are Bowler's Name, Game Configuration, Pricing, and Invoice. However, when the Prepaid option is checked, the last two columns, Pricing and Invoice, are hidden.
There is a list of text boxes for entering bowlers’ names according to the Number of bowlers configured. Names can be entered in two ways. The first method involves typing a bowler’s name directly by clicking on the name box to activate it. The second method is to auto-assign names by clicking the corresponding button. Depending on the defaults set by the manager in the Settings->General area of the desk software, either numbers or letters will appear in the name boxes. If the name text boxes are left empty, the system will auto-assign names once more.
This column itself consist of 4 rows, Reload Data, Game Info, Advanced options and Payment.
In rush hours this option allows you to reload pre-defined lane’s configuration as soon as possible.
Limit type
This option will set when this session should finish, there are two options here:
– Normal
This is the default option for opening a session. If NORMAL is selected, the scoring system will finish the session once a pre-set time has expired, or the number of pre-set games is completed. The person opening the lane will set the Time or Game limit of when a session should end.
– Until end of the game
This option is available only when extending a session and current session is playing and you want to let bowlers finish their current game, regardless of how much time, or how many frames remain.
Limit By
A session can be limited by the number of games, or time, that bowlers are allowed/paid to play. There are two available options, Time or Game. Once you choose one of these options, selection boxes below the setting will change to reflect the appropriate value. For example, if Time was selected, the selection boxes will present all values related to configuring the lane for a Time session.
– Limit Value
Game
the number of games each bowler can bowl is set by clicking on the Number of games drop down window. When the window opens, simply click on the number of games desired for each player to play.
Be aware that the total number of frames in the session will be Number of bowlers x Number of games x Number of frames.
For example, if the Number of games is set to 3 and there are 2 bowlers and it is a standard 10 frame game, the number of total frames for the session will be 3x2x10 = 60
frames.
Time
There are two options to set the end time of the session. The first option is to use a timetable which allows you to set the session end time in half hour increments. The second option is to manually enter how much time the session should last.
30 Minutes Timetable Checkbox
Selecting this option activates a dropdown menu with half-hour increments to determine the game’s end time. The system will then automatically calculate the duration of the session. For instance, if the current time is 11:20 AM and you set the end time for 12:00 PM, the system will schedule the lane to be open for 40 minutes.
Minutes
If the 30 Minutes Timetable option is unchecked, an entry box appears. You can set the session duration by typing the desired number of minutes directly into the entry box, or you can use the quick buttons to set durations of 30, 60, or 90 minutes.
Number of bowlers
To enter the number of bowlers participating in the session, click on the Number of Bowlers dropdown menu and select the number corresponding to the bowlers that will be playing.
Game Mode
Normal
It is normal 10 pin scoring. This is the default selection.
9 Pin No-Tap
If bowlers knock down 9 pins on their first ball, this will count as a strike.
8 Pin No-Tap
If bowlers knock down 8 pins on their first ball, this will count as a strike.
Number of frames
This drop-down window allows for the number of frames per game to be set. The default is 10 frames but there are also options for 3, 5 and 7 frame games available.
Animations
There are 3 checkboxes that allow the manager to set which animations are played during the session.
Prepaid
If this option is selected, this considered as Prepaid and front desk ignores payments, pricing and invoice.
In the pricing column, you have the option to set separate rates for Bowling, Shoes, and Socks. Different prices can be applied for groups of bowlers. For instance, if there are three bowlers and one is a member of your center with a different rate, you can apply the Normal rate for two bowlers and the Member rate for the third. This flexibility also extends to Shoes and Socks. If bowlers bring their own Shoes or Socks, you can enter ‘0’ in Count column for Bowlers, which will exclude the cost for these items.
The price rates can be set in Settings-> Pricing section of the application. In online version, these settings are available for Center owner to set.
The invoice column is showing a preview of the receipt that can be printed on the receipt and how much the customer needs to pay.
The ‘Center Name’, ‘Address Lane 1 & 2’, ‘Phone’, ‘Website’, and ‘Email’ address fields in the header and footer of the receipt can be configured in the settings section.
Customers can make payments using cash or bank cards. For cash payments, the system will calculate the change due. For payments with a bank card, the transaction receipt and the last digits of the bank card will be stored in the database.
A receipt can be printed by clicking the Print Receipt button. If the Auto Print option is enabled, clicking on Open Lane or Extend Lane will automatically print the receipt.
